Taking a Hard Left Turn Right Into a Ditch

"A few more proposals for 70 percent tax rates, sanctuary states, tax paid health care for everyone including illegal immigrants, open borders, Antisemitism and anti-Israel hostility and the Democrats will begin driving away everyone but the hard left. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may set a new standard for willful ignorance by a non-Hollywood personality. There is a point where smiling while saying things that are factually false simply doesn't sustain a national movement." (Newt Gingrich; read full article here.)

The false, religious ideology of secularism has seized not only the seven cultural mountains of influence in America—including American journalism—but now the Democratic Party as well. The religious left, nested securely in the Democratic Party, brings to mind a Charles H. Spurgeon observation from the 19th century: "One fool makes hundreds, and a noisy blasphemer spreads his horrible doctrines as lepers spread the plague."

Yet, let us reiterate the precept that "There's nothing good or bad about the Democratic Party, or the Republican; they are simply empty holding vessels in which like-minded constituents are housed."

Modern America has lost "the juice and sap of wisdom, reason, honesty and godliness" of the stock that established America. A biblically-based culture was integrated into the Founding Fathers' model. People living between the 17th and the 19th centuries recognized that "the atheist is the fool preeminently and a fool universally" (Charles H. Spurgeon, The Treasury of David).

The Democratic Party, whose roots go back to Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, has experienced a "hostile takeover" by fatuous seculars. Take New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York Legislature cheering a bill that allows a 9-month-old preborn baby to be murdered in the womb.

This is not the Democratic Party of bygone days.

In the early 20th century, the worldview among Democrats came principally down to social conservativism and economic populism. Today, progressive liberals and human secularists lay down the law in the Democratic Party, strong-arming for big government, labor union support, universal health care, transgender bathrooms, social, economic and marriage equality and so on.

And as of last week, in New York, legislators codified into state law the "justifiable" murder of a baby at 12:04 a.m., one minute before its scheduled birth.

Regarding the economic leg of the Democratic stool, newly elected and self-described "democratic socialist," New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (A.O.C.) demand for "economic equality" is another head-scratcher. Even the liberal The New York Times contravened: "Yes, Venezuela is a Socialist Catastrophe. In the age of A.O.C., the lesson must be learned again."

Thomas Sowell would seek to learn from Ms. Cortez of "what exactly is your 'fair share' of what someone else has worked for?"

Washington, D.C., has become a bureaucratic swamp, a deep state, where the religious ideology of secularism invades every facet of the culture: business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, medicine, family and religion.

With the secular belief system having taken over the culture, there are hardly any Americans who have not been affected. Take for example North Dakota State Representative Aaron McWilliams, featured on a recent FOX News segment. Mr. McWilliams did a reasonable job up until his last throwaway line, "Without allowing a Bible into schools, without allowing a Quran or any other religious texts in schools, we look at establishing a religion of secularism within our schools by not having anything else."

Unknowingly, Representative McWilliams paid homage to the false religion of "political correctness," "secular humanism" and "heretical syncretism." Syncretism is the combining of different, often seemingly contradictory beliefs, by melding practices of various schools of thoughts and religion. The Bible strictly forbids syncretistic worship. The mingling of biblical and pagan religions is a violation of the first commandment and brings judgment on a nation. Former President Barack Obama was the master of syncretistic worship—jumbling religions together. Doing so is not just unholy, but an abomination to the Living God.

It must be said unequivocally: America was not founded by Muslims, "multiculturalists," or the "religiously neutral." Christians founded America.

A.W. Pink explains what's occurred in America over the last century, "The realm in which the arch-enemy works is not the moral but the spiritual. He calls into question the Word of God, casts doubt on its integrity, denies its veracity."

"Why is this happening?" you may ask. To paraphrase Sun Tzu in The Art of War (Chinese general, military strategist, writer and philosopher who lived in the Eastern Zhou period of ancient China): Over the generations the weapons change—we've gone from bow and arrow to nuclear missiles—but the battle remains the same, contending for control of resources and ideological supremacy.

For that reason, secularists have removed the Word of God from the culture, from public education and higher learning; the Ten Commandments from the walls of public schools, from Houston's Courthouse steps, from Austin's Capitol grounds and so on. Half of all evangelical and pro-life Catholic Christians carry some of the blame by refusing to register and vote.

The battle for the soul of America is not Democrat versus Republican, but "principalities and powers," which can only be conquered by His Word. The Word rules the spiritual enemy. And since the trouble with man is not external or internal, the battle for survival of freedom in America lies in reestablishing the Word of God in the public square and in public education; regardless of whether secularists and carnal men can recognize it or not.

Gideons and Rahabs need to stand.
