National Prayer Warrior: 'We Need Bible-Thumping Politicians'

If anyone has a kingdom-minded finger on the pulse of our political process, it's Ruth Schofield. The prayer warrior and Bible teacher has been active in the Washington, D.C., scene for decades. Her award-winning national television program, The Washington Report, produced from the United States Capitol Congressional Studios, is seen by millions in all 50 states. Her weekly Bible teaching program, Daily Bread, also reaches millions.

Schofield says prayer has escalated across the nation in recent years, but America needs lawmakers who are in love with the Word of God to keep us from spiraling down a primrose path that will lead to destruction.

"We do need Bible-thumping politicians in the body of Christ," Schofield told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of "Greenelines" on the Charisma Podcast Network. "A saying that was coined years ago goes, 'as the church goes, so goes the nation.' The church needs to be immersed in God's Word because that's where all authority comes from, and we need to have politicians who are immersed in the Word of God.

"Political correctness attempts to destroy any kind of power the church has. We all need to have a hunger to go deeper into the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. We're truly fighting for the soul of our nation."
